Maps!

How can you have an adventure without maps?

As far as we can tell, this is the official Allegany State Park map. Close inspection of the bottom right corner indicates that it has been incrementally updated over the last thirty years. (Typographic aficionados will also appreciate and/or gasp at the legend.) Be sure to check out the scenic vistas!

All of the cabins we’ve picked out are within the Quaker Cabin Area (see the inset on the top left or the rectangle at the bottom center).

As we’ve talked about before, the Weller cabins offer a bit more privacy without straying too far from Camp Turner (one option for families with small children). Here’s a map of the Weller area. These cabins between 10 and 20 yards apart from each other. Camp Turner is less than 200 yards from cabins #18 and #19.

We’ll send hard copies of these maps with your Camp Registration Packets this summer.

Think it’s a reasonable option to disperse-camp in the Allegheny national forest?

    Hey Bawb!

We’re hoping that most people will stay in the fun and affordable big cabins that we’ve rented at Camp Turner. Before or after the camp weekend, tent camping is definitely a good option if you want to make it into a longer trip.
